A few things you might be wondering.

Simple answers about visits, bookings, Murphy and what to expect.

Kate and Murphy from Golden Bond Therapy
How long is a visit?

Most visits are between 30 minutes and one hour and are tailored to the setting and client.

How much does a visit cost?

Pricing varies according to location, duration, individual or group format and the needs and goals of the visit. Kate provides a personalised quote.

Can visits be recurring?

Yes. Weekly, fortnightly and monthly bookings are available, with discounted rates or package arrangements for recurring visits.

Do you work with people living with dementia?

Yes. Kate is comfortable and experienced supporting older adults, including people living with dementia and socially isolated residents.

What about allergies or fear of dogs?

Please tell Kate before the visit. Participation is always voluntary and arrangements can be planned around the individual or group.

Can people take photos?

Yes. Visitors may take appropriate photos or video. Golden Bond asks consent before publishing its own media and never publishes identifiable faces without explicit permission.

Can clients give Murphy treats?

Yes, using appropriate treats provided or approved by Kate.

How should people interact with Murphy?

Kate will explain Murphy’s preferences. No climbing on him, tail pulling or disturbing him while resting. Kate always retains control of the lead.

What if Murphy is unwell or tired?

Murphy’s welfare comes first. If he is unwell, unusually tired or a visit is not appropriate that day, Golden Bond will reschedule as soon as practical.

Is Golden Bond NDIS registered?

Not currently. Self-managed and plan-managed participants are welcome to enquire and should confirm their funding arrangements.

Do you offer introductory visits?

Yes, for facilities, schools and organisations considering an ongoing arrangement. Introductory visits are not offered for individual or private-home bookings.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as possible is best so we can find a time that works for everyone. Visits are available Tuesday to Friday, including evenings, and Saturdays.

Can I book a therapy dog in Melbourne?

Yes. Golden Bond accepts enquiries for therapy dog and animal-assisted wellbeing visits across Melbourne for aged care, private homes, schools, workplaces, community events, disability support and suitable healthcare settings. Every enquiry is assessed for suitability before a booking is confirmed.

Can I hire a therapy dog for an event?

Golden Bond can attend suitable community, workplace and other events across Melbourne. Kate considers the venue, group size, noise, timing, allergies, participation and Murphy’s wellbeing before confirming that an event is a good fit.

Can a therapy dog visit someone at home?

Yes. Golden Bond offers private home visits across Melbourne. Home visits may suit older adults, people living with disability, people who miss having animals around, or anyone who may benefit from friendly companionship.

Can I arrange a therapy dog visit for an elderly parent or relative?

Yes. Families can enquire about a private home visit, and aged care facilities can arrange one-off or recurring visits for residents. Kate will discuss the person, setting and what the family or facility hopes the visit will provide.

Do therapy dogs visit nursing homes and aged care facilities?

Yes. Golden Bond provides therapy dog and animal-assisted wellbeing visits for residential aged care communities across Melbourne, including communal engagement, one-to-one interaction and room visits where appropriate and approved by the facility.

Can I book a therapy dog for a workplace?

Yes. Golden Bond offers therapy dog visits for workplaces, staff wellbeing days, team events and recurring workplace wellbeing programs, subject to suitability and planning.

Do you provide therapy dog visits to schools?

Yes. Golden Bond provides one-off and recurring wellbeing visits for Melbourne schools from Prep to Year 12. Visits may support reading, regulation, small-group engagement, positive social interaction and staff wellbeing.

Is pet therapy the same as a Golden Bond therapy dog visit?

People often use “pet therapy” as a general search term for visits involving animals. Golden Bond primarily provides animal-assisted wellbeing and social visits. Where structured, goal-directed work is appropriate, Kate works within her qualifications and scope. The presence of a therapy dog does not automatically make a visit clinical therapy.

What is the difference between a therapy dog and an assistance dog?

A therapy dog visits and interacts with different people as part of wellbeing, education or therapeutic work with a handler. An assistance dog is trained to perform tasks that support a person with disability and has a different role. Murphy works with Kate as a therapy dog; he is not an assistance dog.

Is Golden Bond fully insured?

Yes. Golden Bond holds Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance through Marsh. A Certificate of Currency can be provided to organisations on request.

What professional checks and documentation can Golden Bond provide?

Kate holds current Working With Children, Police and NDIS Worker Screening checks. Relevant qualifications, therapy-dog certifications, veterinary records and other visit documentation can be provided to organisations as required.

What does our organisation need to provide for a visit?

Kate brings everything needed for herself and Murphy. If your organisation has site-specific, safety, access or documentation requirements, please share them before the visit so they can be planned for.

What happens after I enquire?

Kate will ask about the location, who Murphy will be visiting and what you would like the session to support. From there she can recommend an appropriate visit format and duration, confirm pricing and availability, and work through any site-specific requirements or documentation before the visit.

Does Murphy have to sit still throughout a visit?

No. Golden Bond works on connection over perfection. Murphy is given space to move, sniff, explore, rest and choose his interactions. Kate monitors his body language and comfort throughout the visit and builds in food, water and rest breaks as needed.
